The “The Christmas Calendar” project, a social TV series that I worked on with Dansk Social Arbejde, a Danish NGO. My job was to create the project website, organize the filming, and supervise the re-editing of the project.
“The Christmas Calendar” is a fictional series of 24 episodes, in which you can follow the family members of the series each day in their daily lives leading up to Christmas, as well as the family’s personal and social problems. You also follow daughter Thea’s ‘journey’ through Danish society, where she meets different people facing challenges, all of whom have hope for a good Christmas and a good future.
The series aims to raise awareness of how we can deal with the impact of mental health problems by preventing and addressing social problems for vulnerable young people, children and families, including loneliness, anxiety, stress and bullying. The series is a partially interactive cinematic Christmas calendar exploring these themes, published daily in December 2021.
The Christmas calendar has been developed in collaboration with Stica Travel, and is financially supported by the National Board of Social Affairs and Health. The series is available online on the You Tube channel of the Dansk Social Arbejde.
I’m very proud of being part of this project and of the impact that it had on the society. I learned a lot from working with the NGO and the film crew, as well as from the stories and the characters of the series.
